Online Programs Ranked Among Best in Massachusetts
Assumption College has recently been recognized by three different ranking organizations for the excellence of its online programs as compared to other Massachusetts colleges and universities. Each of the rankings cited the quality, affordability and flexibility of online, continuing education at Assumption.
OnlineCollegePlan, a website “created to assist parents and students alike in learning about all of the options available and how to plan ahead for an online college education,” included Assumption in its list of Top 20 Best Online Colleges in Massachusetts. OnlineCollegePlan gathered information on every Massachusetts school that provides distance learning in a variety of academic programs to students and each school was ranked based on retention rates and graduation rates using National Center for Education Statistics and the U.S. News & World Report databases. Due to the strength of Assumption’s online programs, such as bachelor of business administration, with concentrations in accounting, management, and digital marketing; Bachelor of Arts with various concentrations and several career-focused certificate programs; Assumption was ranked 13th in the state.
OnlineColleges, a resource for those seeking reliable information about online colleges and degree programs, ranked Assumption in its Top Colleges in Massachusetts for 2017 list. In ranking institutions of higher learning, in which Assumption was 18, OnlineColleges used the National Center for Education Statistics’ Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and National Center for Education Statistics to generate, and weigh, a list of colleges and universities that offered the best online programs in the state.
OnlineU, a “free guide that enables students to compare all online colleges in the U.S.,” named Assumption to its list of 2018 Most Affordable Online Colleges for Management Degrees. For this ranking, colleges and universities are required to “offer at least one fully online degree in a given subject.” Assumption, which ranked 25, was recognized for its Bachelor of Business Administration in Management.
Assumption’s online continuing and career education program provides students the opportunity to earn degrees in business, humanities, human services and rehabilitation studies, and social sciences. Students can also choose between various concentrations when pursing either a business or humanities degree. Along with these degree options are certificate programs in aging services, alcohol and substance abuse counseling, digital marketing, and medical coding and billing. The school also accepts most credits from transfer students who participated in distance learning at other colleges.
